When and How to Enter Science and Other Mass. Museums for Free

The best way to gain free admission to a local science, history or other musuem in Massachusetts is to visit your local library and request a free pass.

The next best way is to visit a musuem during open, or free days and hours.

Any Day

On any day you can visit the National Heritage Museum to learn about Colonial America, and Massachusetts history.
Where: National Heritage Museum, 33 Marrett Road (At the intersection of Route 2A and Massachusetts Avenue)

Fridays

It's not free, but what's $1? For $1 you can gain admission to the Boston Children's Musuem on Friday nights. That is a great savings for families. Where else can you go for four hours of fun and only pay $1 per person?
When: Friday nights from 5pm unitl 9pm.
Where: Boston Children's Museum.

It may be summer vacation, but parents still have to work. There are still some free activiteis that you can incoporate into family fun days on the weekends.

Saturdays

Children's Story Time and Craft

Children's Story Time and Craft in July and August begins at 11am.

When: Saturdays, July-August 11am
Where: Harvard Square Coop, Harvard Square, Cambridge. The Coop at Harvard Square's address is 1400 Massachusetts Ave. in Cambridge, MA, 02238. Their phone number is 617-499-2000.

Free WAM for Everyone

Kids under 17 are always free at the WAM, but on Saturday mornings their parents and caregivers can also enjoy the museum for free.
When: Saturdays 10am until noon.
Where: Worcester Art Museum, 55 Salisbury Street, Worcester, Massachusetts 01609. Their phone number is 508.799.4406.
Savings: No need to pay the $10 non-member admission price.

The Institute of Contemporary Art

On the last Saturday of the month, The Institute of Contemporary Art offers free admission for families. The free admission applies for up to two adults who visit the museum with children age 12 or under.

When: The last Saturday of the month.

Savings: $12 for one adult, $24 for two.

Wow - what a wealth of educational experiences in Mass. I would love to visit MIT and Harvard museums. Thanks for the informative itineraries for learning.
