Spider-man Brings His Friends and Foes to His Next Video Game

The annual E3 convention where video game publishers show off all their latest games is now over. Of course not one E3 convention can seem to go by without a new Spider-man video game. This year the Spider-man video game on display was Spider-man: Friend or Foe being released on the Wii, Xbox 360 and a the Playstation 2.

We've seen plenty of Spider-man games in the past though on Xbox and Playstation, what makes this one different? There are a few things. The first is that this Spider-man story is an original story never been done in any comic book or video game and Spider-man is supposedly up against a threat bigger than any other threat he has ever faced. Because of this huge threat Spider-man will actually wonder away from the friendly confines of Manhattan, which he doesn't normally do in video games or in the comics.

The thing that has everyone buzzing though is that in the appropriately named Spider-Man: Friend or Foe, many f Spider-mans friend and foes will make an appearance. Not only will the characters make an appearance but also they will be playable.

Spider-man will team up with some of his friends to fight against some of his villains but eventually the villains will realize this threat is even bigger than them and they will be forced to team up with Spider-man. When you have a Spider-man friend or foe in your group you can instantly switch between Spider-man and the person paired up with you, much like in the X-Men and Marvel Ultimate Alliance games.

There has not been a list of characters revealed yet but judging by the images and videos that have been released, one of the friends is Iron Fist and some of the foes include Doctor Octopus, Sandman, Venom and Green Goblin. There are thirteen characters to choose from and each character will have special combination moves with Spider-man. I don't know about you but I think it's about time that we are able to control Doctor Octopus via the Xbox 360, Wii or Playstation 2.
