Located just one block from State Street, Madison’s King Street district has a history of a busy nightlife and exceptional dining for daytime crowds. On one single street, you can choose from traditional Italian, upscale American, a fine Japanese sushi venue, and an exquisite cigar lounge. Live music is a must on weekday nights at most of these locales, and the King Club boasts both local and national talent on weekends.

Flatiron Tavern 102 King St.

This fairly recent addition to Madison’s corner of King Street brings classic appetizers, happy hours specials, and sandwiches to the business district of the Capitol Square. Stop in for a classic club sandwich, a variety of beer and cocktails, and a delicious Bourbon Pecan Pie.

Muramoto 106 King St.

One of Madison’s finest sushi destinations, Muramoto serves lunch and dinner in a modern, upscale bar and restaurant. Japanese beer and wine is available from the extensive menu, and the daily sushi special is a delight for the eyes and palate.   The open kitchen behind the bar is entertainment alone, as fresh sushi and dishes are prepared for you and your guests. Relax in the window seat area for a view of King Street during your dining experience, or choose a more intimate booth and table  in front of the mahogany bar.

Tutto Pasta Cucina Italiano 107 King St.

This is the sister restaurant of Tutto Pasta on State Street, with a similar menu but in a more upscale environment. Enjoy traditional Italian pastas and flatbread in a contemporary setting; the fried calamari and bruschetta are also local favorites. Or, settle at the bar for live music and a classic Martini.

King Club 114 King St.

The live music, classic lounge, dance floor, and cocktail bar provide an exciting night for entertainment and socializing. Local and national musicians are invited to this venue regularly, so be sure to come early to avoid waiting in line!
