When Bret Michaels sang "Talk Dirty To Me" long ago in some arena packed with twenty-somethings holding aloft Bic lighters as they and he swayed to the rhythm of the raucous melody, I'll bet Michaels never thought he'd be in the position he's in now.

Particularly since these girls are probably the daughters of those who packed his arenas and flashed their breasts so long ago.

Nevertheless, Michaels is auditioning 25 eager and somewhat well-meaning women who would love nothing more than to: A. become famous and as highly regarded as he; B. a target for paparazzi and C. insanely rich beyond their wildest dreams.

He'd also like someone to settle down with, according to the information he posted on the "Rock Of Love" Web site.

So off the women will go through his Hollywood Hills digs, coming up with ways in which they can too share in the rocker's wealth. For matters of information, Poison is still as popular as ever, if you grew up in the 1980's.

Michaels will have to contend with the women much the same as he does his touring: very carefully. In the coming weeks Michaels will pick and choose from the 25 women, only to bid some adieu for various reasons.

From the looks of the previews it seems there will be some biting, gnawing, screaming, carrying on and other assorted behaviors that are rather commonplace in shows like this.

After what took place on "Flavor of Love," the ubiquitous show in which hype man Flavor Flav of Public Enemy tried to find a mate, anything is possible. That show alone spawned two spinoffs, "I Love New York," and "Charm School," both of which garnered critical acclaim.

In this show, Michaels gets to pick from girls like Brandi, a Floridian who got "boobs" for a recent birthday present; Cindy, a Georgian with baggage in the form of a 7-year-old son and a propensity for cowboy hats in bed (whatever that means).

Other notable contestants include Erin, Miss Hooters 2002 and the daughter of a police chief. Methinks Michaels will probably tread carefully with her, as well as Heather, a former Las Vegas stripper and self-professed tomboy.

I liked Poison well enough, though I always felt they were a Bon Jovi rip off. (Jovi rules!) I thought Brett Michaels was pretty hot back then, despite the make-up and hairspray, and he still is attractive today. But seeing him drool over women half his age is so gross. The reason for this show is either a sincere search for true love (doubtful) or a way to resurrect his career. Unfortunately, he comes off as sad and pathetic; bad move on his part. (Are you listening Scott Baio?) VH-1, stop the celeb-reality shows!

I love this show. I now its absolute trash but I can't take my eyes off of it. The best part is that Michaels doesn't seem to realize that he is a big joke.
