I have always been an avid movie watcher. I enjoy movies from many genres and time periods. However, have you even been watching a movie and see something that just drives you nuts? Sometimes it is pointless move in the script, a badly placed backdrop, or a completely unbelievable twist. Some of these may be to save money or time. The things that really bug me are the little details that are overlooked during filming or script writing. Here are my top movie annoyances that occur in almost every movie.

1. The empty drink

This has always been my top annoyance. It bugs me when movie characters do not have actual liquids in their cups. No matter if they are obviously taking fake drinks or are slinging their just purchased cups of coffee like they are nothing. It distracts my attention from the movie and what the characters are saying.

2. Stupid human tricks

How many times have you been watching a horror movie and when a murder breaks into the house and after chasing the potential victim, they run upstairs? While some people may do this in fear, it makes me wonder why somebody would put such a dumb action in a movie. I usually still complain about the action through the movie.

3. Pointless Babble

It baffles me why producers feel the need to insert a bunch of needless fluff in some movies. Drawn out scenes that have nothing to do with getting to know the characters and have no relevance to the movie plot. This is especially annoying when the movie is almost three hours long.

4. Perfect hair and makeup

Anybody knows that somebody who has just woken up is not going to have perfect hair. Or, when you exit the pool you are not going to have every stitch of makeup in place. While it is not necessary to make the actress or actor look absolutely dishelmed. A little realness would go a long way.

These are most of my movie pet peeves, what are some of yours? Movies cannot be perfect in everywhere but sometimes it is the little things that can distract from the movie. One of the most common movie pet peeves do not even have to do with the movie at all. It is watching a movie and having people talk to you during the film. What are some of your strange movie pet peeves?

Most of my pet peeves are the usual -- continuity problems, mismatched lighting, etc... You know the ones where the drink is half full in one shot, then empty, then full. Things of that sort. But since you asked for strange pet peeves -- here's one. It's the extras in the background talking. I know this sounds strange, but every time I see them I can't help but think that they aren't saying anything at all -- they're miming. Having been on a number of sets and having seen this, I just can't get that thought out of my head when I watch extras talking in the background. Stupid, huh?

Running up the stairs is stupid when there's a murderer after you! The perfect hair and make-up gets me too! Sophie

How about that no one reads newspapers in movies? They just slap the headlines down on tables. Also, whenever a character in a movie is watching the news, it is always about them in some way.
