Requirements to Sit for the Maine CPA Exam
There are a few basic requirements that you must meet in order to qualify to sit for the Maine CPA Exam. The first requirement to sit for the Maine CPA exam is that the candidate must have earned at least a baccalaureate degree with 150 semester hours. Within these 150 semesters Maine CPA Candidates must have earned at least 15 semester hours in accounting, auditing, and ethics courses. These educational requirements don’t have to have been earned before a candidate can sit for the Maine CPA Exam, but they must be met within 120 following the exam date. In addition to meeting these education requirements, Main CPA Candidates must be at least 18 years of age. Furthermore, the state of Maine doesn’t require U.S. citizenship or state residency.
