West Virginia Mountaineer College Football Team Designed for Greatness in 2007-2008

College football is right around the corner and there's no greater satisfaction than watching the West Virginia Mountaineers football team live up to pre-season expectations. Mountaineer fans are happy that Coach Rich Rodriguez didn't leave for
the Alabama Crimson Tide football coaching vacancy, but opted to stay at his alma mater and to keep building upon a program and conference that was written off.

West Virginia's offense looks very sharp and returns many players such us Pat White a quarterback that can do everything on the football field. I expect to see a lot more passing from him this year. Pat White's running mate Steve Slaton looks for another breakout year topping last years rushing stats of 1,700 yards. Steve Slaton had wrist surgery in the off-season and is feeling healthy and looking to carry the load for the West Virginia Mountaineer's football team. The big bruiser "Owen Schmitt" is back and stronger than ever. Owen Schmitt loves the physical abuse that college football provides. The receivers have improved and gotten a lot stronger and that nucleus is made up of Jeremy Bruce, Darius Reynaud, Tito Gonzalez, Dorrell Jalloh, Wes Lyons, and Nate Sowers. The offensive line is strong as ever despite the media reports of a rebuilding year since losing All-American Dan Mozes. The West Virginia Mountaineers offensive line consists of the following players Ryan Stanchek, Eric Rodemoyer, Jake Miller, Greg Isadaner, Selvish Capers, Jake Figner, and Mike Dent. With all this talent the West Virginia Mountaineers look to live up the pre-season hype.

The defense looks strong and guarantees improvement in the passing games this year compared to last years dismal pass coverage. Keilen Dykeslooks to anchor the defensive line and punish opposing offensives with his hard hitting ability. Marc Magro and Reed Williams look to anchor the linebacker's corps. The defensive backs consist of Antonio Lewis, Charles Pugh, Vaughn Rivers and a nucleus of young players still looking to make a name for themselves. Johnny Dingle plays on the defensive line and is a punishing hitter.
