I've alway's enjoyed listening to Michael McDonald, from the days when he performed with the Doobie Brothers, his voice is very distinctive, even when he went on to do backing vocals and duets with various artists I could always single his voice out without looking at the liner notes in the album sleeves. This is a compilation cd of a lot of the hits which also features four tracks he recorded with the Doobie Brothers; 'Takin' it to the street', 'It keeps you runnin', 'You belong to me' and 'What a fool believes' there are classic tracks recorded with top producers like Quincy Jones, Burt Bacharach and Ted Temperton which include 'Tell it like it is', 'Sweet freedom', 'I keep forgetting' and the duets like 'Yah mo be there' and 'On my own' with Patti Labelle.

I cannot praise this CD enough, all 18 tracks are warm and rich with a deep soul groove and feel, this is one to have in your collection if you dig your soul/jazz and r & b, you'll enjoy it.
