Flavored water and infused drinks are the newest trend in the beverage aisle, and summertime is a great reason to get your daily dose of only the best. From pomegranate juice to mint-flavored water, it's easy to make sure you're getting plenty of water in your diet-especially when the heat index rises.

If you're not drinking at least 8-10 glasses of water per day, you could be on the road to dehydration; if you're working out or spending lots of time in the sun, your risk is even higher. Avoid the energy dips and lows of summer time by introducing some new flavors to your daily diet. There are some strange ones out there, but here's a quick summary of what to expect with each:

You'll find Mangosteen Juice in the organic food aisle, and it's becoming a popular alternative to plain pomegranate and even prune juice. Packed with antioxidants and vitamin C, this is a sweet and tart drink that is great on a hot summer afternoon. Try it on ice, or mix it up with some ice cubes in a blender for a slushee-style drink.

Coconut water is a sweet and refreshing drink that's also full of electrolytes. If you're working out in the middle of the day, you'll need to replenish with an electrolyte-based drink; coconut water such as Zicogive you plenty of nutrients and minerals. The drink is ideal for any post-party bash.

If you're looking for a natural caffeine kick, turn to some Mate tea instead of the coffee. Mate is an herbal tonic that's traditionally been used to boost energy and increase alertness. You'll find it infused in some varieties of green tea, as well as coffee beans. Many health and natural food stores offer organic versions of the tea, and it's a great afternoon pick-me-up without the dehydrating side effects of coffee.
