License to Wedis a fun summer film. It is a great date movie, if you can get your guy to go see it. Married couples will enjoy watching it together. Even a group of girlfriends will get a kick out of seeing the film.

Married couples and singles can relate to Reverend Frank's (Robin Williams) Foolproof Marriage Course. The humor is in the foresight that Reverend Frank tries to impart to the soon-to-be-weds. There is also a great deal of naivety in the young fiancées, Sadie Jones (Mandy Moore) and Ben Murphy (John Krasinski). Reverend Frank's course brings it all out in the open, including issues with the in-laws.

By the time Sadie and Ben get near the end of the Foolproof Marriage Course, they aren't even sure they are supposed to be together. Everyone has input, from Sadie's sister, to her parents, to her best male friend. What will Sadie ultimately decide?

What will Ben decide when he sees the ugly side of the relationship? Is he ready, as his best friend advises him to be the "Kingfisher" and conquer every "fish in the sea?"

One thing is certain Reverend Frank's unorthodox approach to pre-marital counseling brings both parties to the place of reckoning that perhaps everyone should reach prior to marriage.

License to Wed caused a little stir when movie trailers were released and Robin Williams did the talk show circuit to promote the movie. Some people, Catholics and Protestants, felt the movie was an affront to their religion. Watch the movie, and you will find that any religious jokes are just that, jokes. The movie in no way attacks religion. There is no affront to theology or God. If you've ever told a joke about St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, then this movie will not offend you.

If you don't understand Christianity, you may not even understand some of the religious innuendos and undertones. Most of the religious jokes are obvious, but there are a few jokes slipped in under the wire. For someone who is both religious and spiritual, I found them humorous. If that offends you, just take a good look around you. You think God doesn't have a sense of humor?
