JoinRudy2008.com announced on July 16th that the California leadership team was assembled to work on the campaign to elect Rudy Giuliani as president. With 55 electoral votes, more than any other state, California will be a key battle state for the Giuliani campaign. Typically a Democratic stronghold, the newly appointed state leadership team is confident that it can propel Giuliani to the White House.

The newly-appointed California State Chair is Bill Simon. Simon was also appointed earlier in 2007 as the Director of Policy for the Rudy Giuliani Presidential Exploratory Committee, according to JoinRudy2008.com. Formerly a gubernatorial candidate in California, Simon is a native of New Jersey. When Giuliani was a U.S. Attorney for the Southern District of New York, Simon served as an Assistant U.S. Attorney.

Thank you for your comments, Alyce, but I respectfully disagree. I believe that Giuliani has shown himself to be a strong leader in tough times - no clearer beacon of moving forward could be seen than in his actions in NYC after 9/11/01. You are actually factually incorrect when you reference Bush' Republican-held Congress - since the mid-term elections in 2006, both the Senate and House are Democratically-held majorities at this time. You say that Giuliani wants to take the country in the direction he envisions, and you are correct; every candidate has their own vision of where to lead the country - I choose to stand behind Giuliani's. Thank you for your comment.

California used to be known as "the people's state" and the people are sick and tired of GWB and his Republican held Congress. Most California people are modern and progressive in their views. The Skull & Crossbones ilk handpicked Giuliani as Bush's replacement. People with knowledge of the regime simply will not support him. I listened to his You Tube video and he is just one more person that wants to take the country in the direction he wants to take it; whereas the people are tired of bossy government that ignores us. If he were to win, I would know US government corruption is beyond redemption.

Interesting information. I still don't know if he stands a chance but I respect the man.
