How do we attract better teachers? Here is how. In order for this to take place it has to be a joint effort. We don't have the best teachers now because of the tremendous burden and stress that's been placed on teachers. You will find more and more teachers are getting out of the profession for that reason. Teachers are no longer able to discipline students even though students can become very unruly to the point of down right threatening.
Teachers are being asked to not only teach but baby sit. So many parents have not disciplined their children and now they want that burden and responsibility placed on teachers but only according to their instruction. If students don't even listen to parents because the parents have not raised them correctly then they most certainly won't listen to teachers or any other authority figure.
A lot of parents cannot accept the fact that their child is acting up and out in class. They would be surprised to visit the school and be a fly on the wall. There are a lot of one parent homes and if the child is not getting the attention, love, care and nurturing from his parents you better believe he will attempt to receive it from school in whatever manner he can receive it.
So here is what we do. The current administration, teachers, parents, and students all have a conference and everyone needs to understand what we are trying to accomplish. If you have a vision or a mission it should be communicated to everyone involved. Everyone needs to know what role they play in making that mission a reality. As soon as everyone understands what an impact they have they will be more likely to contribute to and make it happen. We need everyone coming together for a common goal and that is to make sure our students are receiving the best possible education. In order to to this there are going to be certain requirements that need to be followed.
