After nine months of carrying your child, it's now come time for the real work to begin, the delivery of your new baby. Now, for me, the hospital labor and delivery aspect of pregnancy is what I looked forward to. I know, strange, right? Well, holding your new baby in your arms, and seeing what you, and your husband created is amazing. There is no feeling to compare to meeting your new baby for the first time. This is what it is so important to prepare for your labor and delivery hospital stay. Not only do I mean preparing for your labor, and delivery mentally, because we all know it takes a lot of concentration to push out your new baby. More so, planning ahead for your labor and delivery hospital stay. Things to take into consideration might be, have you eaten prior to arriving at the hospital for delivery? Sure, if your in active labor, you aren't going to be too concerned with this, but if you are being induced into labor you definitely will be! As in my personal labor and delivery hospital story, I was induced into Labor. I arrived at the hospital in the early morning hours of 3 am. Now, with this being my first baby, I was too nervous to even think about grabbing something to eat on the way out! Wish I would've though! The labor and delivery doctor's started pitocin at 1 pm in the afternoon, and I didn't deliver my baby until 3 am the next day. Did you know that labor and delivery hospital staff will not give you anything to eat once in active labor? I didn't. I was so hungry my stomach was growling, I couldn't help but think of the donut holes that my husband bought on the way in to the hospital, that sat in the car!
