StumbleUpon is a great way to promote your articles, but it's also a great way to generate topic ideas. With the StumbleUpon application you can discover topic ideas you never would have thought of. Also with StumbleUpon, you'll learn a lot of new information about subjects you're interested in. For example, let's say you enjoy reading food-related content, with StumbleUpon you will be able to choose food/cooking from your interests list. Then when you click the "Stumble", you will be taken to a food-related website. From these websites, you will be able to generate topic ideas. If you aren't familiar with using StumbleUpon, follow these steps to help you generate topic ideas.

How to Use StumbleUpon to Generate Topic Ideas Step #1: Download the Application

The first thing you will need to do is download the StumbleUpon application. StumbleUpon is a Firefox application and is extremely easy to download. All you need to do click on "Tools" from the Firefox menu and then click "Add-Ons". On the Add-Ons box you will see a link that says "Get Extensions". Once you arrive at the Firefox extensions website, type "StumbleUpon" into the search box and the StumbleUpon application will be the first one listed. Just click on the link and then click "Install Now". The application is extremely simple to install.

How to Use StumbleUpon to Generate Topic Ideas Step #2: Choose Your Interests

Once you have downloaded the StumbleUpon application, you will need to setup your profile. When you setup your profile, you will be able to choose your interests. When you choose your interests, choose anything you are interested in writing about. Once your profile is setup, you will be able to choose specific categories to search. Just click the "All" button on the StumbleUpon toolbar and a menu will appear that will allow you to choose different categories. Click the one you are most interested in and then hit "Stumble". As you click through the different pages, you will be able to generate hundreds of different topic idea, but how do you keep up with all of them?

I like Stumble... but sometimes it doesn't bookmark the way it should, other times it works just fine. Bit frustrating, that. Still... very useful site.
