Companies around U.S. are choosing to help make the world and our environment a better place by doing activities such as recycling and choosing to develop products with organic materials.

According to a story about a Harris Poll, individuals already are taking a stand at home as 77% of Americans are already recycling or reusing items at home. As more individuals are taking their part at home, it can lead to individuals carrying on the habit onto the workplace as well.

According to their release, PostCard Mania, has already begun "turning green" by printing their postcards on recycled paper. PostCard mania is a direct postcard mailing company that includes services such as graphic design, printing, mailing list acquisition, and mailing services. They decided to make this change in the year of 2005 when they switched from paper that came straight to the trees to a recycled paper that was called Kallima. It's paper was made from post-consumer waste and is estimated that they save up to 1200 trees per year. Along with already creating their postcards on recycled paper, they also have begun dedicating themselves to participating in street cleanups. Joy Gendusa, CEO of PostCard Mania, and 35 of her employees, took to the streets in Clearwater, Florida last week. After about a half hour of dedicated work, she and her employees picked up over 580 pounds of trash and debris from the road and found an estimated 1,700 cigarette butts in the area last Thursday. Joy Gendusa quotes, " We have to take care of our planet. Goodness knows we do enough to hurt it - if everyone just made a small effort in their daily lives we could keep this place around a lot longer!"

Another company is also taking it's hand at becoming green too. "Om Aroma & Co" was named was named 2007 Avalon Communications Best "In the Green" Products. In their release, chief executive officer Angela Kim said that, " We are honored to have been recognized by Avalon as one of this year's 'Best in the Green' products. This recognition is a reflection of our commitment to develop products using only the freshest and most organic ingredients..."
