I have been overweight for most of my adult life and living the life of a "fat" person had finally taken its toll on my image and self esteem. My weight topped the scales at 214 lbs. and a size 18 wardrobe. About six years ago I began my weight loss journey and successfully lost 69 lbs. over an 18 month time period and maintained that weight loss for close to 5 years.

In the fall of 2005 my husband was asked to travel for his job and we began maintaining separate residences. He would come home every other weekend to see myself and our kids, the emotional stress played a huge part in contributing to my 35 lb. weight gain. I filled my evenings alone with late night eating and out of control binging. During this time I took a low does of Effexor to help with my depression and that too helped to put on a few extra pounds.

In December of 2006 I consulted my physician to get some help to jump start my weight loss as I was so disgusted with myself and what I had let happen. She prescribed Phentermine, a weight loss pill that suppresses your appetite and helps increase your metabolism. I have been taking Phentermine for almost seven months and have experienced success with this drug.

Coupled with my old habits of cardio, weight lifting and proper nutrition I have lost close to 25 lbs. as well as 12 inches and 6% of my body fat. When I first started Phentermine I was skeptical because it did take several months for my body to adapt to the side effects as well as the process in losing weight. Some side effects I experienced were trouble sleeping, dry mouth, increased sexual drive and restless leg syndrome. However my body got used to the medication in early March and I no longer have these symptoms. I do still have dry mouth in the mornings after taking my dosage but it doesn't last very long.

I am living proof that if you need help in getting started on your weight loss plan that Phentermine can help. The first time around I did it all on my own but as women get older it becomes harder to accomplish your weight loss goals. I plan to continue Phentermine until I hit my goal of 145 lbs. and then I will stop taking it and maintain my healthy lifestyle of exercising and proper nutrition.

Takeaways
  • Phentermine to help jumpstart your weight loss journey
  • Phentermine coupled with exercise and proper nutrition works great
