After seven long seasons of The Bachelor has love finally bloomed in all those red roses? Charlie O’Connell the ultimate bachelor and younger brother of actor Jerry O’Connell surprised viewers last night with an emotional ending of a rocky two month broadcast. The show takes place in New York City, beginning with 25 single and suitable women all chasing to win Charlie’s attention. They pulled stunts, wore very few clothes and fought like cats and dogs but in the end Charlie’s heart belonged to only one woman. Week by week Charlie cut women from the show. Various reasons were given, they were not there for the right reasons, they weren’t compatible enough with Charlie or Charlie didn’t feel he had enough of a connection with them. After five episodes of screaming, crying and fighting Charlie had narrowed his choice to three women, Sarah W, Sarah B and Krisily. This is when Charlie revealed his emotion side and brought the three women to Aruba where they would share a romantic day together, have dinner and have the opportunity to spend the night together. The three remaining girls, Sarah W, Sarah B and Krisily were all flown to Aruba unlike previous Bachelor seasons. In the past the Bachelor would go on three separate trips meeting each remaining contest at a different location. To the girl’s surprise, all three were at the same location, waiting for their turn to spend time with Charlie. Tension between the girls at this point was at a roaring high. Sarah W was starting problems between Sarah B and Charlie, and Krisily had already fought with Sarah W during a previous episode. Three women all dating the same man can only lead to disasters. In the end, someone was leaving Aruba without Charlie. They all had amazing dates with him but taking them out of New York, Charlie was able to see different sides of each girl. He was able to see their true intentions and who had the qualities to make him happy. Sarah W went home, and was completely shocked by her departure. That left Sarah B and Krisily for the final two. Who was going to get the last rose? Last nights three hour long episode began with Charlie taking each girl to his home town of Montauk, Long Island so they could meet his parents and one of his best friends. Each girl had dinner with his family and had the opportunity to ask questions and spend time with the family. Charlie knew that emotionally he wasn’t prepared to make the decision that was ahead of him. He needed to send one of the girls home. Again, the show reveals another twist. Charlie confronted both of the women before leaving Montauk and told them that he was not ready to make his final decision. He needed more time, and the show was giving him two months to go home, date the women individually, spend more time with them in the real world and come back and make the final decision in front of a live studio audience. Both women were totally shocked and unprepared for this final twist. They packed their bags and headed back to New York City where they would have one last taped date with Charlie. After the final New York date everyone went home. During the next two months both Sarah B and Krisily were given the opportunity to treat their relationship with Charlie like any real world relationship. Charlie spoke with each girl over the phone and he brought each girl to Mexico and California where he was able to spend more time with them. Both of these dates are shown during the final episode, leaving the audience still questioning, who will Charlie chose to hand the final rose to? Present day, Charlie and the remaining two girls, Sarah B and Krisily are at the ABC studios in California. Tension and nerves are flaring and a final decision has been made. Sarah B’s family and Krisily’s family are both there and American is watching on TV, waiting for the final answer. Almost three long hours go by, while the audience watches the Montauk date recapped, the New York date, the Mexico date and the California date. Charlie decides he wants to break up with the girl “privately” in their dressing room, rather then on the stage in front of the live audience. He appears at one of the dressing room doors and knocks, the audience is silent and the emotions are flowing, who will he chose to go home? Krisily is shown walking to the door, she’s really surprised to see Charlie there and immediately knows that something is wrong. They talk for a few minutes; Charlie explains that he’s fallen in love, just not with her. She completely understands and remains strong while giving Charlie a great ending that he had been dreading for so long. It’s the moment we’ve all been waiting for. Charlie is standing in the middle of the stage, a romantic scenery is put together to make the moment extra special (sigh). A door opens and Sarah B appears. She walks down a flowered isle to meet Charlie and to listen to his final decision. Charlie announces that he’s chosen her, he’s fallen deeply in love with her and promises to be the best boyfriend ever. Sarah gushes and yells out that she’s fallen in love with him too. Charlie hands Sarah a diamond ring and tells her that for now, it’s a promise ring. A three hour ending and a great finale, this season of The Bachelor is over.
