I wrote an article about the ten worst TV to movie remakes of all-time so I thought it was only fair to also share the ten best TV to movie remakes. You might be thinking that's impossible, that there aren't that many good TV to movie remakes, but there are, barely.10. Star Trek II
I've actually never seen Star Trek II, or any of the movies, or the television show but as I said I was barely able to come up with ten so I had to include one Star Trek movie and the Wrath of Khan seems to be the favorite among Trekkies.
9. Transformers: The Movie
This is not the newly released Transformers move, that made my top ten worst list. This is the cartoon movie that came out in the 80's during the television series. The Transformers movie rocked, mainly because the Decepticons killed that loser Optimus Prime. That and the voice of Orson Welles as Unicron.
8. Mission: Impossible
The Mission Impossible movies might not be the best series of movies in the world but the first one was enjoyable and the third was very good. I know a lot of people are going to groan because it has Tom Cruise in it, but get over it already. They were good movies.
7. TMNT
The TMNT CGI movie that came out this year was a lot better than I expected. The cartoon was a little bit edgier like the comic book and not silly like the cartoon. The fight scene between Raphael and Leonardo is one of the best scenes this year and the rain looks incredible. The movie is also pretty accurate to the comic and cartoons with the exception of Casey Jones who is now whipped.
6. Maverick
It seems a lot of people lost track of Mel Gibson in between the Lethal Weapon movies and Braveheart but Maverick is a very nice little underrated movie. It has cowboys, card playing, gunfighting, double crossing, humor and country music. What more could you ask for? An appearance by the original Maverick? Well, that's in there too.
