Hailed as one of the best hotel restaurants in Unites States, Blue On Blue restaurant offers contemporary American-Californian cuisine. It is outstretched on the ground floor of the Avalon Hotel in Beverly Hills and is hard to miss. The restaurant hugs a blue swimming pool that resembles the shape of an hourglass or a rough figure eight.

Blue On Blue features a poolside patio setting with intimate cabanas having top to bottom glass panels and all enveloped by bamboo trees. Stylish benches and transparent plastic tables complete the poolside frills. This layout intends to bring out the best in the relaxing mood of California.

In the morning, Blue On Blue restaurant presents a good place to start the day with a hearty breakfast. Lunchtime in this LA restaurant is made more appealing by the clear Californian sunlight. Typically, Blue On Blue is where local professionals and businessmen set up their meetings either for business or pleasure.

By nighttime, the whole place transforms into a fine dining haven as the mood in the restaurant becomes more intimate and elegant. Guests can have dinner inside where the setting is accented by marble tables and luxurious couches. Or for a truly courtyard dining experience, visitors can choose to wine and dine in the cabanas for a candlelit backdrop under the stars.

Overall, the food being served in this LA restaurant embodies a modern Californian cuisine; this means a new approach to classic American-Californian fare has been adopted to achieve a refreshed take on culinary delights such as fried chicken and pork chops. In my case, I tried the grilled lamb sirloin on a sherry reduction, which comes with crisp prosciutto and panna cotta made with goat cheese. For $28, it was a great dinner.
