Anime Review of G-Gundam
Embed:
G-Gundam is one of the many Gundam series outside the UC Gundam Universe in the early 1990s. In a sense, G-Gundam has the feel of Street Fighter due to its nature. It takes place many centuries into the future where Earth is in ruins. As a result, many people moved into space colonies that hovered around Earth's orbit. The world governments would be operating from these colonies. Each colony is for a specific country: Neo-America, Neo-Mexico, Neo-Canada, Neo-Hong Kong, Neo-China, Neo-Cuba, Neo-Iraq, Neo-Kenya, Neo-Australia, Neo-Spain, Neo-Britain, and many other colonies.
In an order to stop wars, a fighting tournament is held every four years. It's just like a Presidential election but instead of votes, we have test of fighting skill. The winning country gets to lead Earth and the colonies for a term until the next tournament. During that time, the country will host the tournament.
During G-Gundam's time frame, Neo-Hong Kong was the winner of the last tournament and will be hosting the next one in Hong Kong. The catch is that the fights will be taking place in large mobile suits known as Gundams.
Each country is represented by a fighter. The country's stake is in the hands of that fighter.
The protagonists of G-Gundam represent the following countries: Neo-Japan, Neo-France, Neo-America, Neo-Russia, and Neo-China. The timeline is FC which meants Future Century. G-Gundam's main characters are: Domon Kasshu of Neo-Japan, Rain Mikamura of Neo-Japan, Chibodee Crocket of Neo-America, George de Sand of Neo-France, Sai Saici of Neo-China, Argo Gulskii of Neo-Russia, Schwarz Bruder of Neo-Germany, and Master Asia of Neo-Hong Kong. The five fighters compete in the tournament for their own reaons.
