Meijers in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, Hosts Harry Potter Fans

The Meijer store in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, will host a Harry Potter Fan Book Release at midnight on Friday. There is such a demand for the newest Harry Potter book. Most of the book outlet locations have stopped taking reservations for copies. "The demand is enormous," said a sales lady at Walmart.

It seems that Harry Potter has a wide variety of busy fans in the mid-Michigan area. The day that the newest Harry Potter Movie hit our local theater the parking lot was filled to capacity. Every seat was accounted for in the theater where "Harry Potter and The Order of the Phoenix" debuted. I had an opportunity to interview a few of the fans that were waiting in long lines to get in to see the show. I asked one elderly lady "What brought her out to see Harry Potter?" Her reply was that, "It has become a family tradition." She told me she brings all of her grandkids to see each of the Harry Potter movies and that they all own every book.

When I asked a younger fan why he was there to see the new Harry Potter movie he told me, "My dad brings me with him every time. Dad is a Harry Potter fan."
I must admit that the line was made up of people from all age brackets. Every one of them looking as excited as the next to see what the new movie would reveal.

On the way out of the movie everyone was whispering about what the next book will hold in store for Harry Potter and his friends. When I asked when the book was coming out (just to see what type of Harry Potter Fans they were). They all chanted on July 21st. For the few die hard fans that will stay up and wait in line
on Friday, July 20th, 2007. They will be the first to get the new book. The Meijer store in Mt. Pleasant as well as many of their chain stores will offer the book for sale at midnight. The sales lady said many will buy them right out of the case as we open them up. She told me that the last time they hosted a Harry Potter Midnight Book Sale "We sold out before morning came."
