The Picture Style feature on the Canon Digital Rebel XTi Digital SLR was created to satisfy photographers who wish to recreate the look of film images with their digital cameras. Color, saturation, sharpness and contrast are all controlled with the use of the Picture Style settings.

The Canon Digital Rebel XTi Digital SLR has 6 pre-set Picture Style options, and the ability to create and save 3 customizable Picture Styles.

The 6 pre-set styles include; standard, portrait, landscape, neutral, faithful and monochrome.

Picture Style: Standard
The Standard Picture Style is the default setting on the Canon Digital Rebel XTi. This setting is great for your casual snapshots and informal picture taking. It applies additional saturation and sharpening to your photo to eliminate post-production computer work on the photos.

Picture Style: Portrait
The Portrait Picture Style setting on the Canon Digital Rebel XTi adds a soft tone to your photos. By reducing the sharpening feature, portraits come out with smooth, soft skin tones. The subtle softening hides blotchy skin tones and minor blemishes. The Portrait Picture Style setting also works to reveal shadow detail for highly detailed portraits.

The Landscape Picture Style setting on the Canon Digital Rebel XTi is great for outdoor scenery and vacation photos. This setting saturates the blue tones of sky and green tones of foliage and grass. The sharpness is increased for vivid, snappy photos of scenery.
