AdventureQuest is a fantasy and roleplay game in which you can create a free account. Once you have created your account, you name your character, specify whether it is a boy or girl, and then begin playing. Here are a few things I like and don't like about this game:

One thing I love about this game is that the non-player characters are often well made and impressive. It makes the game more interesting and if you like anime-like characters, you may like this game. Although the non-player character's look may attract you, battle scenes may turn you off. Monsters and enemies are often looking cheap or roughly put together; some may even make you laugh. The good side of this is that if your computer is slower or can't handle heavy animation, it will probablly handle AdventureQuest.

While graphics may be an issue, I do like how there are in-game events. New quests open up around holidays and fantasy-races are often added to make it more fun and interactive. Players can write suggestions for just about anything on a Suggestion Forum, making things alot more lively because you can chat with other players.

The downside of this game is that if you have a free account their are many restrictions on quests you can take, places you can enter, and games you can play. The price for becoming a "Guardian" member (or non-free player) is a one time payment of $19.95USD. Its pricey for me, considering that you could buy a game for that price, but its definatly worth it if you really like this game. Another good thing about becoming a Guardian is that you can access a bonus game called DragonFable, similar to AdventureQuest but with better battle and character graphics.

AdeventureQuest is a battle game, where you focus on gaining levels, collecting pets or weapons, and generally become stronger. Because of this I think is that reason that it can bore you quickly. Once you get over the amazing character graphics and how many weapons there are, all there is really left to do is collect money, buy, and battle for more money.

Takeaways
  • The character design and graphics are impressive, but battle scenes are less exciting.
  • The two types of accounts make the gameplay unfair for people who can't pay $19.95 to upgrade.
  • This game is nice for a break from school, work, or other games.
Did You Know?
A non-player character is called an "NPC" for short, and means that the character was not created by an actual player and is operated by settings.

AdventureQuest has poor gameplay and so does dragonfable. The quests lack variety and end up being endless grinding sessions. The only good thing is the user support which they are very helpful at.

I would have to say that I agree with you on most of your points...except that dragonfable is now free. And personally, pick the Rogue. -Josh
