Congratulations! You are now the proud parents of a beautiful new baby. Your lives are about to completely change, it may seem hard at times but it will seem like a fantastic thing to go through. Babies bring so much love and joy into a home, every moment will be glorious, and you as parents get to experience every first and watch your little one grow. There will be a never ending feeling of wow, i created something that beautiful. However there are many things you need to learn along this journey, I'm going to clue you in and give you some tips.A healthy newborn looks like
Newborns heads are normally pointed, rather than round, especially if you had a vaginal delivery. Their skin may not look as you thought it would, it may have a reddish color to it or even a blue look to it, do not panic this is completely normal. The soft spot on your babies head will harden in time as the bones grow together, the softness actually gives the brain more room to grow. Some babies will be born with a full head of hair and others may be completely bald. The first hair on your babies head will normally rub off or change color. At the end of the day remember your baby will not look this way forever, make sure you take lots of pictures children grow up so fast.
Check-ups
Your baby depends on you as the parents to make sure they get everything they need, including getting them a regular check-up. If you are unsure when to take your baby in for check-ups, talk to your health care provider they will be happy to assist you, to make sure both you and your baby get the best treatment, and at the correct times.
Tip
When going to a check-up with your newborn, have a list of questions or concerns you have ready, by doing this you wont forget something that could be important.
Baby Blues
Baby blues also known as postpartum depression is very common especially among new mothers. The "blues" can occur before your little one enters the world, and can occur afterward too. Do not worry if you get the baby blues, it will pass in time and it does NOT mean you are a bad mother. It is only natural to have a mixture of emotions. Pregnancy is a tough thing to put our bodies through.
