The little brown diner on banana curve in South Waverly, Penn., known aptly as the Banana Curve Diner locally has changed hands once again and business is at an all time high. Not only have the hours changed so has the menu. These are welcomed changes to the diner's patrons, both old and new.

The Banana Curve Diner is now open daily from 6 am until 8 pm but reopens at 11 on Friday and Saturday nights to offer a breakfast for the after hours crowd. Before the restaurant began these hours, local people would have to travel out of town if they felt the need to go out for a breakfast in the middle of the night.

The new owners Tracey, Toni and April have made this diner truly a family business and currently have ten employees. The owners have taken hands on approach to their business, and Toni served our meal there. I have heard that Tracey often wears a red apron and his black fedora as he walks around and talks to patrons making sure everything is fine.

From the updated décor, to the new menu items created from recipes handed down from their families, to the family inspired atmosphere. It is not just a diner; it is like sitting down with your own family for dinner. It is a very comfortable place to eat a meal.

The Banana Curve Diner serves the usual breakfast fare such as eggs, pancakes, and bacon among the other usual breakfast foods. However, it is the raspberry pancakes and a delectable sausage and biscuits dish that makes the breakfast fare unique and well worth the trip. If you are in the mood for breakfast fare at suppertime, have no worries you can get it during all hours the restaurant is open, which is wonderful.

I had the pleasure of eating at the resterant and I have to tell you that the food is great and you get better value than eating at a fast food place. Rumer is that the owner is a musican and a singer who has a cd out so if you are in the area stop in he might sing you a tune.
