What is Immigration Reform?

After watching the news for the last year or so I am wondering what immigration reform means. At some point every culture came into the country illegally. Even the English. At that time the Native Americans did not have the immigration reform in place. Is that when it should have happened? The reform, I mean. What does it stand for? When the English came here looking for religious freedom should the Natives have sent them back to the ocean, or where they came from to file for a visa and hope that it would be approved? These days people are leaving their countries because there is not only religious persecution, but there is a government that is not even allowing them the ability to financially care for their families. Is that reform? Does reform mean that if someone has lived in this country since they were two years of age because their parents chose to break the law and they have to go back to a country they never really knew for a visa and be kept there in a place that they don't even speak the language mean reform.

What is reform?

This is the definition of reform based on the English Dictionary:

Reform: 1To change for the better as a result of correcting abuses.2.Self improvement in behavior or morals by abandoning some vice.3. A campaign aimed to correct abuses or malpractices.4. Make reforms in by removing abuse and injustices.5. Change for the better.6. Improve by alteration or correction of errors or defects and put into a better condition.7. Break up the molecule of (reform oil). 8. Produce by cracking: reform gas.9. Bring, lead or force to abandon wrong or evil course of life, conduct, and adopt a right one.

I wish that someone would tell congress the definition of reform, so that they will start chasing real criminals instead of people who work for a living.

I am one who always believed that reform was something good. If I knew someone who was an alcoholic that was reformed usually I was proud of them.
