There's a lot of hype in the US mobile phone industry, each company trying to push it's own brand, which is only to be expected, but it can be hard to separate the good from the bad. So, here's three devices you shouldn't have on you, and why.1. AT&T iPhone
Yes, it's the big new thing to talk about or have the iPhone, and the other big new thing is to bash it. I'm not going to do that, because to be honest, it's a beautiful little piece of work. The screen looks great, it's design is innovative, and it's on the strongest GSM network in America. However, that same touch screen, while sturdy, also attracts a lot of grime. Yes, you can always take an alcohol wipe to it, or use a Bluetooth headset for calls, but it's still an irritant. More troubling, though, is the lack of 3G data service and 3rd party applications. Yes, you can access 3rd-party web apps through Safari, but in spite of what some will say, that's not nearly the same thing. And a lack of 3G means that it's going to run far slower on the internet than AT&T likes to show in their commercials. Top that off with the fact that the SIM card and battery are not normally removable(yes, it can be taken apart, but it's not designed to be taken apart by users, so according to Apple and AT&T, they're not removable), and you have a phone that, while nice, has been hyped a little too much and doesn't have the things that users have come to expect. It rightfully can't be called a smartphone, since the definition is a phone that has both personal organizer functions and the ability to install third-party software applications.
