Las Palmas Mexican Restaurant Review in Glenview, IL

Good Mexican food is very hard to find in the Chicagoland area. Let's face it, if you're not in Mexico or not dining in the southern most part of the United States, you usually are not getting true, authentic Mexican food. In this article I am going to tell you about a restaurant called Las Palmas that serves great, authentic Mexican food. It is located on the Northshore of Chicagoland, in the suburb of Glenview, located on Waukegan Road.

When you first walk in you will see brightly colored, festive walls and beautiful hand painted murals of Mexico. You feel as though you have walked in a Mexican Oasis and have left the busy city life behind. The hostess is dressed in Mexican attire and she will greet you always with a smile. It is one of the most cheerful establishments I have dined in. As you are seated, you are handed a menu with fantastic choices of taco platters, chimichangas, burritos, chili rellenos, fajitas, the list goes on and on. One of the best features of this restaurant is that they will change the platters up for you from beef to chicken, from soft shell tacos to hard shell, and you get to choose all your toppings. The waiters are dressed in colorful Mexican shirts and are there to please. Whatever your pleasure is they will do everything possible to get it right for you. You also get unlimited free drink refills with the exception of alcoholic drinks. Their margaritas are to die for!

As you wait for your meal to arrive you will find a talented guitar player roaming from table to table playing and singing beautiful music. It truly is a nice way to pass the time. You also get amazingly fresh salsa and warm chips to dine on as you wait.

Your food always arrives in a short amount of time and the portions are huge! I have yet to not take a doggy bag home with me. I rarely finish my platter. All the food comes with refried beans, mexican rice and it is all smothered in lettuce, tomatoes, cilantro, and sour cream. When you are finished you can dive into the most delicious Mexican ice cream you have ever tasted. The kids will love it.
