Petty Officer Larry Wisnewski Jr., 28, a member of United States Navy Reserve serving as in the Military Police (MP) just returned from a tour of duty in Iraq. Wisnewski left his tour of duty early based on a medical problem associated with the need to have shoulder surgery. The surgery was performed at a military hospital located in Norfolk, Virginia. Wisnewski brought up a few troubling viewpoints about the war in Iraq. According to Mr. Wisnewski, Iraqi prisoners receive better treatment than soldiers serving in the war. The prisoner's families are allowed to live close to the base, so that they can visit their family member. Rumor has it that the United States Government compensates Iraqi families if their loved one is detained in one of the many detention centers located throughout Iraq.
Mr. Wisnewski worked at a prison located in Baghdad, Iraq where a lot of violence is carried out on a daily basis. He was scared being over there in a foreign land where most people don't like the United States involvement in their affairs.
The point Wisnewski brought up was the protocol on guarding prisoners that despise Americans. Military guards are not allowed to talk to prisoners. How can we find out information if our military men and women are unable to interact with the prisoners?
I guess government knows everything, but then again if that was the case we wouldn't be there in the first place. An alarming issue is how many military men and women charged with murder when their fighting people that blend in with the locals. Also, if your in a gunfight with the enemy and find them injured then you should be able to shoot them without hesitation or prosecution.
Wisnewski feels like government is more concerned about the prisoners than they are about the military men and women fighting a war with unknown enemies. War is war and casualties happen and no American soldier should be treated as if there the problem. Wake up America the United States Government sent these men and women over to Iraq for a reason.
