The Nokia 2865i cell phone is small and extremely lightweight, but how does it perform? There are pros and cons to this cell phone which I will outline for you to consider.First, let me explain why I purchased the Nokia 2865i. My more expensive Samsung cell phone broke before my cell phone contract ran out. I needed to find a cell phone to use with an existing cell phone plan. We have Cellular South and are extremely happy with our service.
Because my broken cell phone was unusable, I had to make a quick decision. However, I took a couple of days to research cell phones first. The cell phone had to have excellent reception, be durable (we have two small children) and because we use the cell phone as our home telephone, I needed it to have a strong battery charge and Bluetooth access. Of course, there were other features that would be nice to have but they were not a "must." I knew I did not care if it had a camera knowing the poor quality of camera cell phone pictures anyway, plus I keep a pocket size camera in my purse at all times. A mp3 player or radio would be a plus as well as brew access and being able to store videos.
In my research, I ran across the Nokia 2865i also called "the bar" which had great reviews. It was less than $40 on the Cellular South website, so I was hesitant at first. I was afraid it would perform more like a "free" cell phone. Again, since it is our main line, I use it a lot and performance is imperative. The cell phone seemed to meet my most important needs and the reviews I read were excellent so I decided to give it a try.
When the Nokia 2865-i arrived, it was much smaller than I had imagined. It is only 3.46 ounces and it is 4.15 X 1.66 X 0.71 inches. I was worried about it being durable. As it turns out, it is durable and has survived well being dropped once on concrete.
The cell phone is easy to get used to, with or without referring to the booklet. The phone book will hold up to 500 numbers. It also has a knob much like a "joy stick" which makes moving around the cell phone's memory extremely easy. There is a note pad with reminders as well as a calendar that is easy to use.
