A new survey just released reveals that ninety eight percent of moms would gladly give up some of the favourite things for just short time in a 'Me Zone'

The survey was carried out by Glade Flameless Candle and it found that the modern mom would be willing to give up favourite items such as her cell phone or most precious hand bag if it meant they could get some time for just themselves.

Modern moms are constantly finding themselves chauffeuring children to various activities, such as, soccer, dance, school, friends and then keeping the house in order and making sure the family has a decent dinner. All this running around gives moms little or no time for themselves.

According to the Glade Flameless Candle survey modern moms not only need a time that they can have to themselves but they also need a place where they can have this time without interruptions otherwise called a 'Me Zone'.

The survey found that nearly every mom, ninety eight percent, wanted to have a 'Me Zone'. It found that most moms are not shy about admitting that they deserve to have a 'Me Zone', ninety four percent. However, moms also said there were obstacles in the way of achieving this precious time alone, seventy four percent.

When asked about the places moms currently take refuge, the bathroom topped the list as the only place they could go and not be disturbed. But this isn't the ideal location for a 'Me Zone'

Over half of moms wanted a calm peaceful 'Me Zone' that included candles and pleasant smells. Some moms even wanted their 'Me Zone' to extend to a 'We Zone', meaning that is was a place they could relax with friends, family and even their pets.

Author Lisa Earle McLeod has written a number of books to help busy moms find some time in their lives for themselves. In her books 'Forget Perfect' McLeod gives some good suggestions on how to create the perfect 'Me Zone'.

If mom is at work, that doesn't mean she can't take a couple minutes to relax. McLeod suggests using a flameless candle to provide a relaxing smell and listening to some music that is calming as if on vacation.

Great article. I think today many moms are also finding comfort and "me" time on social networking sites for moms. There is a great one called JoiningMoms.com

Count me on on the bathroom, sadly that doesn't always work either. Nice read.

Yup, the bedroom has always been my only "me zone" as well.
