LG Tromm SteamWashers: Steam Innovation in Home Fabric Care

Does doing laundry get you steamed? Try steaming your dirty clothes instead. LG (Life's Good) Tromm SteamWashers are being heralded as the next logical step in home laundry.

Visually the ranges of LG Stromm SteamWashers are attractive. The different models available are solid appearing appliances with a panel of blue lighted, modern controls across the top. Metallic accents gleam against the background of color choices depending on the model: titanium, white, black, pearl gray, navy, wild cherry red. The consumer can find a contemporary hue to match their decorative taste.

An integral generator produces steam that can be added to normal wash cycles to increase the cleaning power. The powerful jet is meant to better loosen impacted dirt and grime, as well as rinse away chemical residue left by cleaning agents. Overall energy efficiency is also improved and less water is used in the wash cycle. Advertisements say, ". . . without the use of water, just steam." This seems misleading as steam is superheated water.

Be aware that not all LG Tromm SteamWasher models have the Energy Star Rating. Look for the sticker or ask. The energy efficiency and water conservation is an important consideration when choosing an appliance.

The controls are offered in blue LCD or LED configurations and can be set for English, French or Spanish speakers. Usual wash cycles are included along with a Steam Fresh Cycle. Cotton blend fabrics normally dry-cleaned can be freshened without washing using this twenty-minute cycle. Settings for Bulky/Large, Sanitary and Baby Wear can be used. There is also an automatic detergent/softener dispenser.

LG provides a Remote Monitoring System. This modem device plugs in to any electrical outlet and displays where in each cycle the machine is. It is simply a cycle clock. No matter where you are or what you are doing, you will know what your washing machine is doing.
