Paper Retriever is a program that allows schools, churches, and other nonprofit organizations to fundraise by recycling paper. The program is a "win-win" in that Paper Retriever is a great way to make money for the organization using it, and also great for the reducing trash and saving precious resources. Many people admit that they reason they don't recycle is because it is too time consuming to find somewhere to take your recyclables. With Paper Retriever receptacles popping up at your local school, churches, parks, and other places you already visit anyway, saving the world by recycling paper has never been easier.

Paper Retriever is owned by Abitibi-Consolidated Recycling Division and operates the Paper Retriever program in areas of the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom. The receptacles that are placed at the organization doing the fundraising look much like traditional dumpsters, but are painted bright yellow and green and are complete with the Paper Retriever logo. This makes the receptacles easy to find to drop off your donation. The Abitibi company "retrieves" the donated recyclable papers from the receptacles periodically and distributes them to various places to be re-used.

Paper Retriever accepts many types of paper that most households throw away on a daily basis. Newspapers, magazines, advertisement mailers, office and computer papers, shopping catalogs, and junk mail can all be recycled with Paper Retriever. You don't have to do any sorting yourself, just drop off your papers in the provided receptacles. Try saving all of these types of recyclable papers for a week and see how much you end up with. You will be surprised by just how much you are throwing away that could be recycled and used for other purposes, rather than just filling a landfill. Not only will you be helping the environment, but you will also be helping to raise money for the organization of your choice by using Paper Retriever.
