Many great inventions have come just by people stumbling upon them. Rubber is one fine example of that. Well, unfortunately this little invention I am about to share with you isn't quite as beneficial to the world as rubber, but it can be satisfying to say the least.

It is a drink called an Ether Bunny that my friends and I stumbled upon during a camping trip a couple of years back. I am not much into drinking hard alchohols or wines because they give me heartburn and other reasons that I shall keep to myself. This drink I do occasionally have as it is one of the smoothest and tastiest drinks I've ever had.

I wouldn't recommend drinking it while camping because you may experience what my friends and I did which was nearly starting a forest fire. So drink in a safe environment.

It is a simple drink that is best served in your average 10-12 oz. glass over ice. Simply add one shot of Vanilla Vodka and mix with any orange soda. Orange soda...not orange juice. It is not a Tequila Sunrise type of drink. You can use diet orange soda but the taste isn't as good. I recommend using Sunkist.

If you enjoy orange sherbert ice cream, then you will enjoy an Ether Bunny for it is the alchoholic version of orange sherbert ice cream as far as tastes go.

Why is it called an Ether Bunny you may be asking? Well, besides the fact that it is a very potent drink it was sort of due to slurred speech. This is how the story went:

"Woah, these are great. Where did you learn to make this?"

"I didn't, it just looked like a good mix."

"Yeah right. You couldn't have invented this you idiot."

"Yeah, I agree...who showed you how to make this? The Ether Bunny?"

And the name stuck. Yes, the poor guy was meaning to say Easter Bunny but it came out Ether and we kept it as a name.

So try it out and enjoy.

I tried this at a halloween party 2 years ago. It goes down very smoothly. Perhaps too smoothly. After about 12 I found myself in a playground... puking. A little boy tapped his mother "mommy, why's that angel puking in the bushes?" "let's go Johnny... let's go"
