BOSTON -- On Friday, Harry Potter fans have the opportunity to enjoy a free night of magical tunes sung by none other than Harry and the Potters, and Draco and the Malfoys.

The motto of Harry and the Potters? "We play songs about books!"

The free concert is at Harvard Square from 7pm until 10pm. The show, like all of the concerts by Harry and the Potters is intended for muggles and wizards of all ages.

Harry and the Potters is, according to member Paul DeGeorge, one of about 200 garage bands in the U.S. playing "wizard rock," which is rock'n roll based on the Harry Potter characters and world.

Also playing the concert will be The Hungarian Horntails and Draco and the Malfoys. Harry and the Potters and Draco and the Malfoys have a friendly rivalry, but it's all in good fun.

Harry and the Potters is Joe DeGeorge and Paul DeGeorge, who hail from Boston. Harry and the Potters were kind enough to take time to answer some questions via email, recently, about their music, and about the free concert.

Interview

Harry and the Potters: "The songs on our MySpace tend to be pretty popular. Save Ginny Weasley is probably our biggest hit.

According the Harry and the Potters, people also love The Human Hosepipe, Wizard Chess, and This Book is so Awesome."

Are there any new songs you will be playing?

Harry and the Potters: "We have a few new songs, most notably one about The Enchanted Ceiling and another about hugging Hagrid."

With the end of the Harry Potter book, one wonders what kind of plans this band has for the future.

What can fans look forward to in the future?

Harry and the Potters: "Our first show was in our parent's backyard. We're hoping our last show will be in JK Rowling's backyard. Watch for it!"

Is there anything else fans should know about the band?

Harry and the Potters: "Harry and the Potters are the kind of thing that would happen if Harry quit hanging with the quidditch jocks and he stole a time turner and started a punk rock band with himself."
