Coffee, tea, donuts, no frills, no nonsense, and low prices. And the donuts are tasty. Donut Hut makes their own, in this little location on Healdsburg Ave. near the intersection of College and Mendocino.

It's a simple little place, that opens up at 5 A.M. and has plenty of seating if you want a place to sit down and munch. The donut selection is the usual - old fashioned, cakes, raised, cinnamon buns, tiger's tails, apple fritters, maple bars, muffins and so forth. As with the coffee - a mere 80 cents for a small cup of regular, or add 20 more cents and get one of the flavored varieties such as Hazelnut. They also have an array of Stash Teas for the same price, and there's a cooler with various other sorts of beverages.

The environment is very basic, but clean, with plastic tables and folding chairs as well as some stools at a window counter. They always seem to have a huge pile of the previous day's newspapers on hand, in case you missed the goings on of the world and need to catch up. You enter, someone emerges from the back room and takes your order, you get your food and beverage and then they return to whatever mysterious goings on are occuring back there. No piped in music, just serene silence over which to enjoy your coffee/tea and donut as the morning dawns. Or, grab a dozen to go for the workplace or whatever.
