Sam's Donuts (and Chinese Food) sits on a fairly quiet stretch of Sebastopol Road between Stony Point and Dutton. It's a very basic little donut-and-coffee place, but sometimes you just want a very basic little donut-and-coffee place and this one does everything that such a place should and does it well.

The place is a lifeline for early morning workers looking for a little energy, but traffic is never that heavy and there's always a place to sit if you care to. The interior is clean and well kept. You've got your usual selection of donuts - all about 55 cents each and all pretty tasty. There's also your more elaborate pastries, muffins, cinnamon buns, tiger's tails and so forth for a dime or three more. The coffee is just regular french roast sort of stuff, self served from pots on hot plates, but it's got to be the lowest priced that I've seen in town - only 60 cents for a small cup, 80 for a medium, 1.00 for a large. You can get a medium coffee and two donuts here for an even 2 bucks.

Very quiet place - there's a TV behind the counter, but it's there more for the mamasan's benefit than yours, and unless you're into Chinese soaps you're probably better off just grabbing a free Bohemian from the pile to keep yourself occupied.
