The Silly Things People Do when They Laugh

The first time I met my husband he seemed to be so well put together. We met at Church. He had attended one of the services where my singing group "The Shadow's of Christ" we performing. I noticed him immediately in the audience. He had this girl in a red terry cloth dress, wrapped around him. I thought that was so inappropriate for Church.

After wards he and one of his friends were acting like idiots out in front of the church. His friend happened to be in our group and our piano player. I tried to ignore them but when they started body slamming into each other and laughing louder I had to see what was so funny.

There they stood. Bouncing off each other like morons. Then falling back and laughing so hard they were almost crying. I walked up to Jim (our piano Player)
and asked him what on earth was he laughing about. He then told me that "When we were kids at school we used to bounce off each other." So here they were grown men and doing the same thing in front of the Church. He then said I guess you had to be there to understand why it is so funny. In that I had to agree with him.

We decided to go out for dinner. We found ourselves eating pizza and playing pool in my basement. We had turned on some music and thats when Gary asked me to dance. The evening had been very enjoyable. At that time I didn't have much of a since of humor. To much tragedy had been happening in my personal life. I reluctantly said "Sure" and the next moment we were slow dancing to the lyrics of "Beautiful Tonight."

The song ended and he pulled me back and said, "let's dance one more." Again I let my guard down and said yes.." He put his lips close to my ear and said, "Let me whisper sweet nothings into your ear.....nothing .....nothing.....nothing." That got me laughing so hard we could not finish the song. We laughed until my ribs hurt. I could not remember how long it had been since I had laughed so hard and so long. It felt good, so good that I no longer wanted to miss out on laughing and releasing my worry. The bible says "Laughter is a medicine to the soul." Well it sure was to mine.
