Almost all of us have to mow and trim our lawns each and every year. If it is done right you can improve the appearance of your lawn and how healthy your lawn can be. Taking care of your lawn can also mean less maintenance time for your lawn when you do mow. There are several things that you will need to care for your lawn properly. A good push lawn mower with a sharp blade, a weed eater for trimming, a rake and broom for cleaning up any debris left in your yard. And if you have a very large lawn you may want to purchase a riding lawn mower to make the job a little easier and save you from push mowing a large lawn. All of these things will help us to take care of our lawn. First take your weed eater and trim all areas that your lawn mower can't get to. There are places around our home, garage and fences in our yard that you will not be able to get your mower close enough to cut the grass. So trimming these areas with your weed eater will take care of this problem. Next take your mower and mow your grass. Try and go as close to areas as you can so that you don't have to go back over it and trim again. It is a good idea to use a mulching lawn mower when you mow. This will cut your time back from raking your yard later. It will throw your grass back into your yard and will make your lawn look cleaner. When mowing never mow your yard to low. Always make sure to check the height of the mower blades on your mower. Always leave a couple inches of grass up in your yard. This will protect your lawn from drying out and looking brown. If you cut your lawn too low the sun can scorch your grass. Never mow your grass when it is wet. This will make your grass uneven looking and leave big clumps of wet grass behind on the ground.
