In recent times on Associated Content it seems the theme has been: go gay! Gay as it pertains to sexuality and not so much as the term describing joy, though for some people I am sure the definitions are one in the same. Any way the articles that were appearing on the main page and showcase all seemed to revolve around someone finding out they were gay or that their husband was gay after so many years. Eventually the comments on such articles started to turn negative as people grew tired of yet another gay topic. I myself have been inspired to write this article based off of the articles about people finding out they are gay. I have been living as a straight male for 25 years of my life and I am NOT gay. Let the heterosexual pride parade begin!

The female body is the universal symbol to me of what defines "beauty." There is no way in the hell of the universe that I could ever feel the same emotion or attraction to the male form. Sexually it is bad enough that I have to look at one penis every day, but there is no appeal what-so-ever in admiring the alien sausage of some other dude.

I'm heterosexual and I like parades so why can't I be happy about being hetero and share it with others?

In the words of entertainer Rob Nash, "I get sick of listening to straight people complain about, "Well, hey, we don't have a heterosexual-pride day, why do you need a gay-pride day?" I remember when I was a kid I'd always ask my mom: "Why don't we have a Kid's Day? We have a Mother's Day and a Father's Day, but why don't we have a Kid's Day?" My mom would always say, "Every day is Kid's Day." To all those heterosexuals that bitch about gay pride, I say the same thing: Every day is heterosexual-pride day! Can't you people enjoy your banquet and not piss on those of us enjoying our crumbs over here in the corner?"

great article! I came out late in life, I attended my first gay pride last year and this year I was in the parade. I believe that we all need to be respected (hetero-and homosexuals both!).

Hi there, I read your comment on some other 'gay' article that was on the feature page so I decided to read yours. I like it, it was kind of funny with some serious notes thrown in, but I also like that you don't feel the need to bash just to be totally different! It seems to be there's room for many viewpoints in this world and I enjoy articles on both sides. Happy Hetero Pride Day, Wes! Feel free to drop my page sometime and see if you find something you like.
