I am sitting down to the computer and my mind runs blank. There is nothing to write about. If I had something to write about I would. Yes, I have all kinds of ideas collected that I could write about. It isn't that I don't actually have anything to write about. I don't want to write about any of those topics. I write best when I am passionate about a subject. I believe that passion is very important when writing a good article. I like to write about what I am passionate about at the moment. Why am I not passionate about anything? Right now, I am passionate about many things. However, I am in a sour mood because I recently listened to my daughter cry herself to sleep for about 5 minutes. The elusive bink (binky, nuk, or pacifier for those of you who call it that) was no where to be found. I am in a sour mood and therefore I have nothing to write about. Sure I could write about what is on my mind the ins, outs, hows and whys of the current situation, however I don't think many people would want to read it. It is not enjoyable to read someone's rants even though rants are very commonplace on-line.
These are some ways I came up with that can help you turn a doldrum into a steady writing hum.
Brainstorming Process
For those of us who are in a sour mood and are sitting down to write an article, I have some tips to help you get in a better mood. (It is always easier to sit down and write an article when you are in a better mood.) The first tip is: write down the many different subjects you are passionate about. Like I said earlier, I had many tips written down before I was in a bad mood. After I became surly, I read all of them and none of the ideas appealed to me.
