The famous co-founders of Firefox, namely Blake Ross and Joe Hewitt, built this new platform with the intent to make the desktop content of an individual more available to the rest of the online world. The CEO of Facebook intends to also build a new platform on top of the one that they have built.Their development tool Firebug has also gained them the recognition of the software development community worldwide.
In line with Facebook's goal of helping people to better assimilate the information that is spread around them through the web, the acquisition of Parakey couldn't have been a better move. The site has registered over 31 million users for a variety of purposes like work, collegiate works and even secondary students have made it the 6 th most popular site in the US, according to Facebook.
Facebook is based on things like school or work where you can build a network composed of your friends and family and share your photos and any news that happens to you. Furthermore, the feature also lets you control the privacy of your post , notes , photos and basically everything else that you share with your close network of friends. It is therefore composed of several sites and not just the common idea of having one big site. The new addition to this though is the capability of seeing the pictures of your friends from wall to wall, not ike the usual features offered by other social networking sites like friendster, which have only basic privacy set-ups.
