Like a lot of devoted Vh1 fans, I enjoy watching the reality shows they deliver to us. One of my favorites, happens to be Celebrity Fit Club. I think it's great that overweight celebs want to do something for themselves. One thing that bothers me about this show, however, is that they do not give us a lot of information about what the contestants are eating as far as their nutritional plan goes. We know that a lot of them follow Dr Ian's Fat Smash Diet, however, in some seasons a few of them seem to be following the Nutri-System plan. It's a bit confusing. I think the show would be better if they let us in on what they are eating. Maybe what a sample meal plan looks like.

I did a little research on Dr Ian's Fat Smash Diet plan. It's very interesting. I'm thinking about giving it a try, but it seems very hard to stick through the first few weeks. The first week you eat lots of fruits and vegetables and are allowed oatmeal, low-fat or fat-free yogurt and egg whites in limited quantities daily. Then after nine days I believe you can introduce a little more protein like maybe boneless chicken or a boiled egg. You lose a lot of weight if you can stick to it the first few weeks.

After those first weeks of minimal food options, you start to follow kind of a South Beach Diet approach where you slowly add in good carbs and proteins to see what works best with your body and losing weight. It seems like a great plan for those that don't like a lot of structure, and are not good with counting calories or points.

What I enjoy about this show is that it shows you that just because you are a celebrity and you are receiving personal training advice as well as nutritional counseling, does not mean that losing weight is easy. It's never easy. What I DO wish they would do is have a Celebrity Vs. Regular People addition of Celebrity Fit Club. One team can be celebs and the other can be random people off the street so that we can see who loses more weight.
