For those that are following the presidential election, one thing that Mitt Romney seems not to be able to run away from is the name he shared with John Kerry: flip-flopper. On Thursday, he criticized Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama for supporting age-appropriate sex education, a measure which Romney supported in 2002 and is now law in Massachusetts.

Obama in an interview said,"We have to deal with a coarsening of the culture and the over-sexualization of our young people. Look, I've got two daughters, 9 and 6 year old. Of course, part of the coarsening of that culture is when politicians try to demagogue issues to score cheap political points."

"What we shouldn't do is to try to play a political football with these issues and express them in ways that are honest and truthful. Certainly, what we shouldn't do is engage in hypocrisy," Obama said.

Speaking in front of core conservative Republicans in Colorado, Romney ignored his earlier support for the same measure before his run for the White House; attacking Obama's statement on providing age-appropriate sex education for all students-a tactical way to pander to the Republican base who does not trust him on his late conversion.

During an earlier Republican presidential debate this year, his rival, Tom Tancredo described Romney's conversion as a conversion done on the way to Des Moines and not on the way to Damascus.

Obama said, "All I said was that I support the same laws that exist in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, in which local communities and parents can make decisions to provide children with the information they need to deal with sexual predators."

A Republican strategist who don't want his name published pointed out that if Romney can't get its acts together, he will definitely go the same path Kerry went in 2004. Pointing out that the former governor has equipped his rivals with arsenals that will wipe him off the current political arena. He stresses that credibility and integrity are two deciding factors in this presidential election, and that he is eroding down the abyss of Oblivion.

Ignorant is NOT bliss! Education is the answer to most of the problems in this world. Sex is not a dirty subject and children should be given information age appropriate. I don't agree that age 5 is too young for sex education. Children that age are curious and want answers and should get the correct information. When we lie to them (supposedly to protect them) it just gives them reasons not to believe us.

What I have noticed is that the media and political writers are quick to cry wolf on flip flops, especially with Romney. I don't have a problem with a politician changing his view on issues, especially if he or she is wrong. But I don't believe the current allegations re Romney show an inconsistency worth discussing. Romney stated that he was in favor of age appropriate sex education, but that at age 5, no sex talk was appropriate. These are not inconsistent statements.

Can we elect a president whos comparisons make absolutely no sense. Also the no-name guy may want to check the polls on Romney.
