The latest report from the front lines in Iraq is that a combination of Iraqi and coalition forces have killed or captured a large number of terrorists over the past three days.

Most notably, coalition forces are detaining two persons suspected of being terrorists who are affiliated with the military forces of Iran. They were captured Sunday in a raid the forces conducted near the border with Iran. They were found in a rural area, in a farm compound, just before dawn. The forces were also able to confiscate a large number of weapons at the same time from the same location.

It is believed that these suspects are members of a network that snuggles explosives, weapons and people as well as money from Iran to Iraq.

In action taking place in other parts of Iraq, the coalition forces are reporting that they have killed an armed terrorist, while at the same time they detained 14 more suspected terrorists. This happened during an operation that was specifically targeting the network of al Qaeda operating in Iraq.

There was a lot of action in Mosul. In one of the easier confrontations, the al Qaeda religious advisor for Mosul
surrendered to coalition forces. It is believed that he is responsible for releasing religions decrees relating to anti-coalition activity. They were also able to detain one other suspect.

Further action in Mosul resulted in coalition forces being able to detain three more suspected terrorists who are believed to have ties to the al Qaeda in Iraq emir of northern Iraq

In another raid, this one northeast of Fallujah, the forces captured five suspected terrorists who also believed to be associated with the al Qaeda in Iraq emir. In the same raid, they discovered a weapons cache containing rocket-propelled grenades.
