Ever since I saw the bottle at my local liquor store, I have always wanted to try Pinnacle Vodka. I won't lie; the main reason I wanted to try it is because its French heritage reminds me of Grey Goose Vodka, which is my favorite kind.

Pinnacle is about $18 for a 1.75 liter bottle, which is a relatively cheap price for a vodka. Comparably Smirnoff is about $14 for .75 liters, Grey Goose is $25 for .75 liters and Skyy, Stoli and Absolut are between these prices. By comparison $18 for 1.75 liters is a steal of a price. I finally brought myself to buy the vodka the other day and I can finally say that I have tried it.

I first tasted Pinnacle Vodka as a shot to taste the vodka itself. The first sip is very smooth. It does not have a harsh flavor right off the bat, like the bite that a lot of vodkas can give. After a few seconds the vodka flavor is strong, but not overpowering. For a vodka taste it is very bearable and it does not burn on the way down. The best part about this vodka, for me, was that there was not much of an aftertaste. After a minute or so the flavor went away, and it did not linger for too long.

I later tried using this vodka in a mixed drink. The great thing about this vodka is that it nearly disappears in a mixed drink. Some vodkas are very overpowering when you mix them, but Pinnacle has a very soft vodka flavor when it is mixed. It is just enough to taste it, but not enough to dominate the drink.

Pinnacle vodka was also very nice the next morning. I did not have any ill effects from drinking it the night before and I felt fine the next day. I had no headache or sick feelings.

To be honest the only thing that I was disappointed in was the plastic bottle. I usually associate a plastic bottle with the lesser vodka brands like Aristocrat. I delayed in buying the vodka for this exact fact. Pinnacle tastes too good to be reduced to being in plastic, but if it makes it cheaper and easier to import, than I can't complain too much.

Pinnacle vodka, with its French label and smooth taste reminds me of Grey Goose, but for less than half the price. I fully recommend it.

Pros: Smooth, Price ($18 for 1.75 liters), no burn, no hangover

Cons: Too good for plastic bottle

Don't let the plastic fool you, Pinnacle is worth a try.

We love Pinnacle, in fact we have converted just about all of our friends to it as well. You must try the "Orange Thing" with this Vodka, it's simply Vodka, OJ, and Sprite, you can mix it however you like, and it always comes out tasting great, if you like the OJ flavor, just add more of it, if you like a soda flavor just add more Sprite, the Pinnacle has always tasted great in this drink no matter how I've mixed it!

It's actually made in the same distillery as Grey Goose and then imported by White Rock for this country. So you're not too far off from the Grey Goose reference...

as for the plastic bottle, I recently found that the .750 ml size of this vodka is in a glass bottle.

Ok, I am going to try this next time I get it. I rarely drink liquor but if I do, it is usually vodka. Great advice.

I tried it with a few things...OJ, Cranberry Ginger Ale, Mountain Dew and Cranberry Juice...I thought it was great with all of them.
