In a July 17 press release, JoinRudy2008.com announced members of Rudy Giuliani's Justice Advisory Committee. A former attorney himself, Giuliani has chosen to surround himself with advisors who will weigh in on his campaign on a variety of issues including judicial appointments, tort reform, and limiting frivolous lawsuits. One chairman and eighteen committee members were announced.

The announced Chairman of the Giuliani Justice Advisory Committee is Former Solicitor General Ted Olson. Upon announcement of the formation of the committee, Olson remarked, "Rudy Giuliani believes in limited government, individual liberty and interpreting the Constitution the way its framers intended. He understands that we need judges who interpret the Constitution, not legislate from the bench. Rudy Giuliani will appoint strict constructionist judges who share that philosophy." Having already established himself as a strict constructionist, Giuliani appointed additional committee members who espouse the same beliefs and theories on legal issues.
