Ten Rules for Improving Marriage and Parenting Skills

How to be a parent? This question poses many obstacles and brings a lot of stress into your life. Being a parent requires a pay-off of negotiating and lending a helpful arm to your spouse. I have defined a set of rules to help improve your parenting skills as well as your marriage.

Rule #1
Understanding your spouses needs and to be there when times are tough. As a parent you must stand-in and allow your spouse free-time to do their hobby or just a time for relaxation.

Rule #2
Be there for your children and discipline them as required. It makes me sad to see that so many children don't have love in their lives. I don't care how busy your life may be always make time for your family and children. Show them guidance and teach them right from wrong to the best of your ability.

Rule #3
Sit down with your family for dinner and talk about each others day. This time is important in creating a bond between spouses and children. Take the time to ask each other what's going on in their lives.

Rule #4
Create family night where everyone is together laughing and playing. You can do anything for family night. Kids especially love game night where you can play games and interact as a family.

Rule #5
One of the most important rules is to teach your children respect and etiquette. Teach them to respect other people and to be polite when talking to them. Show your children etiquette such as eating with their mouth closed, saying please, and anything else that combats ignorance of the human race.

Rule #6
Try not to fight or cuss in front of your children. They pick-up words very quick and when they see their parents fight they create a sense of fear. This fear will stay with them throughout their lives. Show your children love as well as your spouse.

Rule #7
When your children are in school you must get involved and help them along the way. This is a critical time in their lives where you have to keep them on a path for success instead of failure. Parents go to school meetings and volunteer to help anyway you can.
