What do petroleum, sodium lauryl sulfate and propylene glycol all have in common? These complex names represent three of the harsh chemicals that you will never find in a Burts Bees product.I have been using Burts Bees products as an addition to my fairly large assortment of beauty and hygiene products for several years now. I always knew the company was a firm advocate for all natural quality products and was familiar with their strict adherence to keeping their items fragrance free as well as devoid of preservatives and artificial colors. I also knew they were one of a few popular lines of personal care products that do not test on animals. But until the other day, I didn't really give any of this much thought.
A few days ago, however, the true value and quality of the Burts Bees personal care products became glaringly clear for me and one particular incident served as the sole catalyst for the creation of this tribute article. That incident was the extreme shampooing of my recently dyed red hair. It was only then that it occurred to me how serious this company is, when they proclaim on the back of the shampoo bottle to have made "a cleansing complex that is one of the most effective, gentle, and richly foaming available".
The term extreme shampoo is not an exaggeration. The Burts Bees shampoo, officially titled "Burts Bees Super Shiny Grapefruit and Sugar Beet Shampoo" was such an amazing cleaner that it not only served to remove a significant portion of the artificially bright red Garnier hair dye that had settled in my hair just two days prior but it also managed to strip my nails of all of their polish. I admit I was a little disappointed and definitely would suggest that any fellow fake redheads steer clear of the miracle shampoo until the cleansing and repair periods between hair dye treatments, but I now feel confident that I have experienced the single most perfect product on the market for cleaning my hair the way it should be done.
