Mother's day is right around the corner and do you know what you are going to get your mom? I think we have forgotten how happy the little things that we did for our mothers back in the day made them. Don't you remember waking up early on Mother's Day and making your mom breakfast in bed? All the homemade cards we used to make in school for our moms, what happened to those?

If you are a child the best thing to give to your mom is something that you make yourself. Or better yet, just give your mom a nice day! Make sure that you don't talk back and that you don't fight with that brother or sister that is driving you nuts! All moms want is to know that they are appreciated. The easiest way to do that is to do all the things for your mother that she has done for you all your life. Make your mom that breakfast, or lunch or dinner or all three! Make your mom that card or write her a poem or even make her a CD or Tape of all of her favorite songs, or all of the songs that remind you of her.

Forget the flowers from 1-800 flowers this year. If you are an adult and you live close enough to your mother, take her out to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner. If you are an adult with kids then take pictures of your kids and make something with those pictures and give it to your mom. If you are an adult and you still live with your mom, fix that leaky faucet that she has been complaining about for weeks. Or pay someone to fix it for her. Buy your mom a pretty nightgown or a nice soft robe. Give your mom a gift card for her favorite store.

If you don't have alot of money or if you are a teen or even a smaller child, make a list of your moms favorite things. For example...My mom's favorite snack food is mixed nuts. So I would put that on my list and find out what else she buys for herself that is just hers. Her favorite shampoo, her favorite ice cream, or just stuff that she would only buy if she has extra money for it. Put them all together and what do you have?? A basket of course silly!! You can get a super inexpensive basket anywhere, even the dollar stores and put all those wonderful things in it.

Takeaways
  • Mothers are easy to please
  • Mothers day gifts do not have to be bought
  • Mothers day doesn't have to be expensive
Did You Know?
Mother's will love anything you give them because it comes from you!
